Wholesale & Green Beans
Who can buy from Gonzalez Brothers?
We supply specialty green coffee to roasters, cafés with in-house roasting, and coffee businesses across the UK and Europe — and we sell fresh-roasted coffee to everyone else. Pricing is public, so you can browse the catalogue and order without an account. Want a VAT invoice for a wholesale order? Add your business details at checkout — it’s optional.
What’s the minimum order for green beans?
It depends on the lot — from 5kg for micro-lots to 30kg or 60kg for larger lots — and the minimum is shown on each listing. Prefer to try first? We also offer smaller sample sizes so you can cup and evaluate before committing.
How do I request a sample?
Pick a lot from the catalogue and request a sample from its page. We dispatch within 5 business days. Your first sample is free — all we need is your business details. Additional samples are subject to lot availability and fair use — see our Terms and Conditions.
What does SCA 84+ mean?
Every lot we list scores 84 or above. Here’s what that means: the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) grades coffee on a 100-point scale, where 80+ qualifies as specialty grade — so 84+ sits firmly in the specialty tier, with complex, distinctive flavour profiles.
What are your payment terms?
Retail and online orders are paid at checkout by card (Shopify Payments) or PayPal, with prices shown inclusive of VAT. For wholesale/trade orders we can invoice on 30-day terms by bank transfer (BACS/CHAPS) or card, with prices shown exclusive of VAT. All prices are in GBP.
How long does delivery take?
UK delivery is typically 1–2 business days with full tracking. Retail orders over £20 ship free; below that, delivery is calculated and shown at checkout. Wholesale delivery is quoted per order. EU and international delivery times vary — contact us for a quote. For orders outside the UK, customs duties and import taxes are the buyer’s responsibility.
What bag sizes and packaging do you offer?
Our coffees are available in 5kg, 10kg, 30kg, and 60kg bags depending on the lot. All green coffee is stored in climate-controlled conditions and shipped in GrainPro-lined jute bags to preserve freshness and quality.
What if the coffee doesn’t match the sample?
You’re covered. Every sample is drawn from the lot it represents, and we keep a retained sample of each lot for comparison. If a delivered lot is materially different from the sample, tell us within 5 business days of arrival — we’ll cup it against our retained sample and, if we confirm the deviation, offer a replacement, credit, or refund. For transit damage, send us photos as soon as you can (ideally within 48 hours for trade orders) so we can raise it with the carrier — this never affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Can I return roasted coffee I’ve changed my mind about?
If you’re a consumer buying online, you have 14 days from delivery to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and receive a refund. Unopened, sealed bags can be returned; opened bags can’t be, for food-safety reasons. Faulty or mis-described coffee is always covered, whatever the reason — see our Terms and Conditions (section 6). Wholesale and trade orders are business-to-business, so this change-of-mind right doesn’t apply unless we’ve agreed it in writing.
Do you carry certified coffees?
Some of our lots are sourced from certified producers — details and documentation are shown on individual listings. Our primary focus is cup quality and direct relationships with producers. Many of our partner fincas follow sustainable practices that go beyond certification requirements. Contact us for specific certification documentation.
What does ‘direct trade’ mean?
We work directly with partner fincas in the Ecuadorian Andes — no middlemen, no commodity exchanges. We visit regularly and negotiate prices that reward quality. This means better prices for farmers, lot-level traceability for our trade partners, and unique lots you won’t find elsewhere.
Can we visit the fincas?
Yes. We organise origin trips for wholesale partners to visit the farms, meet the producers, and cup coffee at source. Get in touch to learn about upcoming trips.
Office & Café Coffee
Can our office try before committing?
Yes. We include a complimentary sample selection with your first order (subject to availability), so your team can find what they love. There’s no long-term commitment — if it’s not right, tell us.
Is there a minimum order or contract for offices?
No minimum order and no long-term contracts. You can adjust your order, skip a delivery, or cancel at any time.
How much coffee does my office need?
A good rule of thumb is 10–15g per cup. For a team of 20 drinking 2 cups a day, that’s roughly 2–3kg per week. We’ll help you estimate the right amount based on your team size and habits.
How does office delivery work?
We roast fresh and typically dispatch within one business day, with full tracking. Delivery for office and wholesale orders is quoted per order; standard retail orders over £20 ship free. Subscriptions ship every two weeks by default — ask if you’d prefer weekly or monthly.
Can we rotate between different coffees?
Absolutely. We can set up a rotation so your team experiences different single-origins, blends, and new varieties with each delivery. It’s a great way to keep things interesting.
What grind options do you offer?
We offer whole bean, filter, espresso, and cafetière grinds. If you’re not sure which is right for your setup, just let us know what machine or method you use and we’ll recommend the best option.
How is my data handled when I enquire?
When you submit an office coffee enquiry, we collect your name, email, company, and any details you share, so we can respond to your request. We won’t use your details for marketing without your explicit consent. See our Privacy Policy for more.
